My love of photography began while still a boy in Harare. I used to sneak into my father?s office and play with the cameras in his bags. On my 16th Birthday I received my first camera a 35mm rangefinder (Helena) from my sister. I was hooked. This fascination has led me on a 20 year journey as a photographer. I have been blessed to have been under the guidance of the late R.A. Muronda (my father) a renowned portrait photographer. Who in 1948 paved the way for black photographers by being the first African to open a portrait studio in Salisbury, Rhodesia (what is now known as Harare, Zimbabwe) and an older brother a writer/filmmaker. In addition, I had the good fortune of being an assistant to one of NYC?s talented fashion and beauty photographers Micheal Polizzi.
I received my formal training and education in Harare, Zimbabwe and Temple University in Philadelphia. My love for photography has inspired me to see beauty in everything I photograph. After attending CCP and Temple I opened a studio in Philadelphia, and then moved to NYC where I worked for Micheal Polizzi. All the while I continued to learn and to work on my craft and build my portfolio.
